Chr. Hansen A/S is a global bioscience company with 3000+ employees distributed all over the world. We develop natural solutions for the food, nutritional, pharmaceutical and agricultural industries covering entire production chains. We use strong R&D competencies coupled with significant technology investments and close customer relationships to develop and produce cultures, enzymes, and natural colours for a variety of foods, confectionery, beverages, dietary supplements and animal feed.
At the 2019 World Economics Forum in Davos, Chr. Hansen was awarded “Most sustainable company in the world”. Our R&D organization consists of more than 270 employees and currently hosts several postdocs, PhD, Master and Bachelor students (>15). The department of Animal Health aims at increasing the intestinal health and digestibility for production animals through microbiomes and knowledge.
Chr. Hansen has an almost 150 years of experience in microbial solutions within dairy, and in the past three decades a large focus has also been on developing products for human, animal and plant health. Chr. Hansen has experience in upscaling new strains to large scale production with global market access through our existing sales organization.
Chr. Hansen will contribute to WP7, providing feedback for the development of a bioinformatic tool and as an end-user by focusing the project on business relevant questions across all food production sectors including crops, aquaculture and terrestrial livestock.
